d874 - Male Gorilla

Male gorillas start growing silver hair once they reach puberty. They weigh around 500 pounds, and contrary to the popular belief they don't eat bananas, but mostly leaves (as it would be hard to find the daily 30 pounds of food they need if they only wanted fruits or vegetables).
In spite of their mean and tough look, they are not violent and males never fight. Instead, they usually try to impress each others by being loud and agitated - always keeping their distances. Fighting would actually be pointless, as the females choose the dominant male.
We were told despite his mean look, this young male is extremelly calm and loves to play, or be bothered, by the young gorillas of the group.
